This is a pretty long par 72 with wide fairways, in keeping with its resort status, and scoring can be low when the wind is down. However, it's approaching six years since the second of two PGA Tour wins and 40/1 is short enough, so I'll complete the staking plan with KH LEE. Form figures of MC-MC-MC to begin 2023 explain quotes of 80/1 about a player who threatened to win in stronger fields last year, but two of these missed cuts have been by narrow margins including last week. The Farmers Insurance Open begins at Torrey Pines on Wednesday and our golf expert has six selections. It's not likely to have a lasting impact on anything except perhaps the career of one player. Get instant job matches for companies hiring now for Exercise Equipment jobs in Cornwell like Head Chef, Air, Instructing and more. A winner at the RBC Heritage since, again having drifted to this kind of price at a course he enjoys, Spieth is just that bit too good to ignore. That putter of his has to be the worry, for all that the Bahamas offered some promise, but if he's to skip the Sony Open again then he'll be desperate to make the most of this one Hawaii start in 2023. It's where he proposed to his wife. Recommended bets are advised to over-18s and we strongly encourage readers to wager only what they can afford to lose. Senekal signed for a third round of 69 to lead on 18-under par. pic.twitter.com/Mgdai6Hb3A. We are so proud of you @DanJBradbury and that week off work was most definitely worthwhile Sandra! Si Woo Kim had gone well before beating Patrick Cantlay. Green hasn't been driving it well and that's a worry, too, but Abu Dhabi's Yas Links was always likely to catch him out and I could see him dialling it back in under soft conditions at a course where all-out attack looks likely to be required. The moment @SRTheegala found out he was playing #thepeoplesopen is definitely worth another look! The 2023 Genesis Invitational gets underway in a few days and golf betting expert Andy Lack is here to kick the week off with his favorite predictions and betting picks for this week on the PGA Tour. And that's just fine. Only in the final round of the Farmers has he really struggled this year and, crucially, his driving has improved a heck of a lot. We saw evidence of that when Luke List joined Day, Rahm, Justin Rose and Bubba Watson on the roll-of-honour in an event long dominated by Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson before that, and you'll often find bigger hitters among the also-rans. Instead, that came in Bermuda, and with his iron play sharp in Abu Dhabi last time he looks to hold an obvious chance. That's certainly part of the thinking for taking a chance on JORDAN SPIETH, who has questions to answer but is a big price at 33/1 and demands inclusion as a result. 02. Yes there have been signs of promise either side of a successful Q-School run, and I do believe that a long-awaited return home will do wonders for him given what he said in that emotional Korn Ferry Tour interview in the autumn, while it's also important to note that he has stacks of good course form and spends a lot of his time practising at Amata Springs. Two of the three involved in a dramatic play-off putted poorly but got by on their wonderful long-games, whereas under easier conditions the best putter in the field has won both subsequent renewals. pic.twitter.com/h4cpO2vm4N. Our golf expert Ben Coley has a range of selections including five outright tips for this week's Challenge Tour event. No wonder Woodland has spoken about how comfortable he feels at one of the longest and most difficult courses they play so it looks an obvious place for him to win for the first time since the 2019 US Open, a triumph which of course came along the coast at Pebble Beach. He's not alone in that view but not everyone translates it to the kind of record he has, which has seen him better the field average at the host course in six of his eight starts in this event, 18th place in 2020 a more recent form line than back-to-back top-10s at the very beginning of his career. As such I won't let it put me off MAVERICK MCNEALY and SAHITH THEEGALA, two of the best non-winners on the circuit, both with local ties and stacks of course experience, and both playing well. Webben coley landed a winner last week and now looks to end the season on a high with four selections for the dp world tour championship. "@BTBWins Yeah Heritage in particular looks ripe doesn't it; good players at 100+ who actually like the course and want to be there. Given that I was so sweet on him there, and that he justified selection to a large degree with the way he struck the ball, the only question to answer in a field absent of Adrian Meronk, Ryan Fox, Victor Perez and Nicolai's brother, Rasmus, is will he find this course similarly suitable? Helligkilde's putter is also firing and with just one round costing him a top-five or so in each of the last two weeks, he looks primed to put things together at a course which shouldn't take a lot of figuring out. Back then, the idea of allowing some of your biggest draws to line their pockets in time for Christmas seemed harmless enough. Another good pointer is River Highlands, where Spieth once edged out subsequent Pebble Beach winner Daniel Berger and where Hadley sprang into life with fifth place last summer, so the idea that this event could and should bring out the best in him has plenty of substance to it. I'm proud to share what my brilliant daughter, Cloe Frank, has been up to while working tirelessly in early education reform at UVA School of Education and Surely that wont end poorly.https://t.co/OPAejv7ICQ pic.twitter.com/F9Rp5kjaAv. CLICK HERE FOR OUR WORLD DARTS FINAL TIPS, Sungjae Im can enhance a fine course record at Kapalua. Breezy conditions kept a lid on scoring at the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship, both last year and back in 2012, but the course was pretty firm in November and the leader was on 13-under through 54 holes before a level-par finish. Rahm is 4/1 to follow up Sunday's narrow victory in another event he'd won before, the clip from 6/1 justifiable by field strength alone never mind the fact he won again, and there are either form (Justin Thomas), fitness (Xander Schauffele, Will Zalatoris) or psychological (Collin Morikawa) concerns next to the names of all bar a couple of his biggest threats on paper. We are committed in our support of safer gambling. Remember, he's chosen to come to Asia rather than seek an invite for the Genesis Invitational, in which he played so well last year, and with Ryder Cup points so precious he can't afford to be off the pace again. He actually shot a bogey-free 64 there which is fabulous golf. It's markedly easier than last week, where he was a good bit shorter to see off a field which featured Scottie Scheffler, Tom Kim and Sam Burns, and while disappointing in an event he likes, it generally pays not to place too much stock in performances in multi-course pro-ams. Cam Davis at 60/1 (Sky Bet, bet365 1/5 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8), 1pt e.w. The Version table provides details related to the release that this issue/RFE will be addressed. He had to stay home to look after the dog all week. @DPWorldTour pic.twitter.com/8HFGZuSqKI. Putnam said he felt a little rusty in Hawaii so the eight rounds he managed across that and at the AmEx should have him fully tuned up for a return to what could be more favourable conditions, these poa annua greens certainly familiar to a player hailing from Washington. However, this field is poor, the course looks made for the kind of strong drivers who dominate the betting, and I think it should be closer to 12/1 the field as was the case when betting opened in Singapore last week. Tenth in strokes-gained approach last week, he'll enjoy the extra space off the tee here in Puerto Rico and has the ability to go ahead and contend on Sunday. Woodland has made my staking plan for this event a few times and so far without quite delivering, but he's shown bags of promise and especially so at the South Course, where he's been among the top six scorers on three separate occasions. There's just not that much new evidence to hand, yet Spieth is twice the price he was to win the last major championship he played in. History might repeat if his back holds up. Perhaps even more so, I'll miss seeing players like Joaquin Niemann and Matthew Wolff find out how good they really can be by testing their games against the best players in the sport, who overwhelmingly remain on the PGA Tour. Spot the dotted line from that, to Kapalua, to Sawgrass, to St Andrews, and to the other side. Pre-pandemic, this was the most exclusive event of the year, open only to those who had won during the preceding 12 months. Unresolved: Release in which this issue/RFE will be addressed. A missed cut at the Sony Open appears to have put everyone off but he did shoot a second-round 65 there, doing everything well, and I can happily put his poor opener down to the fact it was his first round since Houston in November, where he finished ninth on another municipal made for big-hitters. "I played three Junior Worlds, like a bunch of other tournaments out on the South course," he confirmed. Action and Do 5. This is the golf course upon which Rahm eagled the final hole to win his first professional title, and the one upon which he birdied the final two holes to win his first major. As far as Rahm goes, he seldom plays the week after a win and when he did that here in 2018, he faded from halfway favouritism to by far his worst finishing position yet in La Jolla. CLICK HERE FOR OUR /20 SIGN-UP OFFER Bradbury shot 21-under to win in Joburg, clearly relishing the opportunity to attack, and at another driver-heavy course with fewer complications than Laguna National, one where he doesn't concede an advantage to those more experienced, he might be capable of doubling up just as Ockie Strydom did. Higgs is hard to make a case for from a ball-striking perspective, especially after a missed cut at PGA National, but he's been regularly catching the eye of late and undoubtedly has a touch of class. Nicolai Hojgaard didn't even flinch #RakGolfClassic pic.twitter.com/EzWGnYDt5N. He's at a career-best world ranking and is playing well most weeks. Also impressive in his first Presidents Cup at Royal Melbourne a couple of years ago, Im seems the right type for this kind of creative test and I do like the fact that he was in action in December. Fourth in the Bahamas last year might be a decent clue and this son of a former PGA Tour player has got the look of someone who is a bit better than his results suggests, which is why he's been attracting some each-way support. McNealy will probably fall into the frustrating category if he doesn't crack the top five again soon, but he's twice been runner-up in his home state and, having played well in each of his last six starts, is primed to extend that run. (Note - Endycott has withdrawn and bets are refunded). In the AmEx last time he shot 68-64 over his final two rounds, before that he'd missed the cut narrowly on his Sony Open return, and he'd made seven cuts in a row before Christmas to again suggest that his game is in a good place granted favourable conditions. Now, their refusal to play ball means Westwood was due to give evidence in court last week. We are committed in our support of safer gambling. Hojgaard will at some stage destroy a field like this if he finds a hot putter and as with MacIntyre, a big carrot is being dangled: this is weaker than Al Hamra by quite some margin, yet he's exactly the same price. By Andy Lack Published 17 days ago 2023 WM Phoenix Open Final-Round Odds and Live Picks Get back to the Tournament of Champions and you know you've had a very good season, that sort of thing. The tips are provided by a maths expert who has built a special algorithm that uses all of the stats available these days like strokes gained tee-to-green, driving accuracy etc to compile a list of potential picks. MacIntyre's burst of form in Cyprus came after a lacklustre spell and his win in Italy followed a disappointing effort at Wentworth, so after a chastening weekend off I expect him to be on it on Thursday. Four top-30s is a good return from 11 starts and we saw what he can do under conditions similar to these when leading the Bermuda Championship with an opening 62. When expanded it provides a list of search options that will switch the search inputs to match the current selection. To be here now still demands a successful campaign, but did they really need to invite along a handful of those who didn't actually win but did make it to East Lake? Ben Coley previews the Hero Indian Open, where last week's winner Thorbjorn Olesen is out for a quick-fire double at a very different course.Golf betting tips: . After places at 25/1 and 50/1 last week on the PGA Tour, golf expert Ben Coley looks for more contenders in this week's event at the iconic Pebble Beach. It's a home away from home; the place where he's most at ease. Looking forward to a good week. Neither made much appeal in the circumstances, though, with Austin Eckroat of greater interest given his clear potential and performances by the sea in Hawaii and Mexico. Further support and information can be found at begambleaware.org and gamblingtherapy.org. Go back further and he was third in Bermuda in a field similar to this one, and he played well behind Jon Rahm in Mexico and Rory McIlroy in Canada last summer. Hopefully that experience is one he can learn from quickly as this big-hitter who pounds greens looks an ideal fit for Amata Spring, providing that is he can straighten up the driver. I feel like I'm doing the right things. Endycott defied a slow start to finish 26th last week, shooting 65 in round two, and throughout his rookie season he's shown flashes of potential. Also significant is that when Wu's form did turn last year, it came in Puerto Rico, where he finished third. Single-figure prices reveal much about this field, as do odds of 16/1 about Maverick McNealy, so I'll make ANDREW PUTNAM the confident headline selection as he bids for redemption following a poor finish last year. Chesson Hadley at 250/1 (Sky Bet 1/5 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8), 0.5pt e.w. Still, from a punting perspective, there's always opportunity. At 62nd in the world, he's improved almost a hundred places from this time last year and this tournament looks an ideal place to complete his return to the top 50. Theegala wouldn't be among the very longest hitters around but he's well above average and, given his propensity for a wild one from time to time, it's to his benefit that everyone will have to play from the rough for a good deal of the week. Our golf expert Ben Coley has a range of selections including outright tips for this week's Challenge . THU February 16, 2023 Ben Coley produced profit on the DP World Tour with a big-priced. However, I can't get away from the fact his long-game has been shoddy at times since Christmas and while he'll have been working hard to resolve that, it does make these circumstances quite different to when he won at Harbour Town following a Masters missed cut almost a year ago. Otherwise, taking care of the fifth, ninth and 15th holes in particular is a must these are three easy par-fives, with the 18th playing the longest of four and strong drivers do generally fare best, though it should be said that Smith, not typically one of those, led the field in strokes-gained off the tee last year. All of which makes him a likely candidate to go close and that's a word he used when discussing his health and his swing last week, after producing a fabulous second round on the toughest of three courses used. Difficult conditions undeniably suit and, for a pro-am event, that's what we have here at Pebble Beach. Joakim Lagergren is almost always a big price on the DP World Tour yet when he turns up in Scotland he's a colossus. The algorithm then builds up a profile of the course and what type of player it will suit. I can't quite go that far, as I do believe the venue for the Ras al Khaimah is made for him, but reports from practise at Amata Spring suggest it is driver upon driver at a course which is as receptive as you'll see. It does, however, look a little different to how it should. Ben's selections are over 1500pts in profit. We are committed in our support of safer gambling. Things did pick up as the week developed, however, and after another eight early on Sunday, he finished with a real flourish: six birdies in 15 holes on a tricky day. Perhaps that's because players in this field will have to take on three rather than one or two, making it hard for newcomers to learn all they need to early in the week. I feel like I can visualise the balls going in really well and the putter's been working pretty good.". McKibbin scored in bursts throughout the event in Singapore only to run out of gas on what was his first professional start in this part of the world, something I can easily forgive as he gets used to the sort of conditions which will again be a big factor in Thailand. Certainly, wild shots risk being punished by tall fescue grass and these greens . Theegala won the Junior World Championship here in 2004, 2006 and 2008 (yes, these are form lines from when he was a small child) and was inside the top three in 2009, 2012 and 2015, experiences which surely helped in some small way as he contended here on his Farmers debut, sitting sixth at halfway after rounds of 67 and 68. LIV last week was dull because it was a procession; the more players you have, the better your chances of excitement. He'll have them here, and with his approach work showing signs of improvement, Wu can go well. Speculation is required as to the root cause, but we only need look at the Dunhill Links and the AmEx for hard evidence. THU February 09, 2023 The DP World Tour returns to Singapore for the first time in almost a. The gap between the best PGA Tour events and the worst has never been wider than it is today. Thomas might just have emerged from an approach play funk which meant for a quiet end to 2022, but he hasn't putted well since June and that fact alone means I can resist taking 12/1 about the man who started last year's tournament as the clear favourite. It's been going for almost a century, and their stranglehold has only ever been broken by golfers from Australia, Fiji and Canada, so history if nothing else is against those two European Ryder Cup players and in favour of Spieth. Tyrrell Hatton's back-to-back wins, before he became world-class, had much to do with the relationship he struck up with the handsome man off the telly, and shock winner Oli Wilson broke through at the scene of an earlier play-off defeat. That saw him lie second entering the final round only to incur an unfortunate penalty on the very first hole, from which he did well to recover. Given that he turned 40 in December and went so well on his very next start, there's a lot I like about his profile and it's only one poor week in the desert that needs forgiving. He'll need to play better than he has in his last two starts, but at the end of the previous season he was striping it before that fabulous performance at Quail Hollow, and we might just need his putter to warm up again for a big run at big odds. . Had the PGA Tour been stricter over the last two years, we might have had two different winners. That power saw him feature in the 2020 US Open at Winged Foot before narrowly missing the cut here a year later, but he showed what he can do at Torrey Pines when 16th here last year, playing better than that finishing position on the South Course (12th) but leaving a couple out there on the easier North Course. Gary Woodland at 100/1 (bet365, Paddy Power, Betfair 1/5 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8), Sky Bet odds | Paddy Power | Betfair Sportsbook. Doug Ghim and Luke Donald made some appeal along with Greyson Sigg, who has amateur form here and played well for a couple of rounds on his debut in the event, but I'll break from the USA-all-the-way theme to include RUSSELL KNOX, who looks like he's close to producing a really big performance. Viktor Hovland at 30/1 . Lee clearly loves the place, and having fended off a red-hot Sam Burns plus Daniel Berger in 2021, he dealt with a trio of world-class, Kapalua champions last year. Homa of course brings all the recent winning form, including three of his last six starts in his home state of California, but Day's course credentials are impeccable and the timing of this event just looks perfect for him. It seems highly likely that nobody here can afford to be left behind on the greens unless a zephyr turns into something more. And if that doesn't deserve an ode, I don't know what does. My view is that Lebioda is a bit better than his rating here and that's almost certainly because he's missed the cut in both previous starts in Puerto Rico, but I'm far from convinced the course was to blame and the fact that he was in the mix when 15th at Pebble Beach two starts ago strengthens my suspicion that it should be suitable. Lee was down the field on his first look at Kapalua but that's not uncommon, and neither is a big jolt of improvement for the look around. He was though a shade disappointing there whereas Scottie Scheffler had a chance to win, which he invariably does if he putts to a reasonable standard, and he's a likely improver on his second look around the course. He played nicely in the Bahamas and is in better form than when just outside the top 10 as a 12/1 shot last year, has won a couple of times since, and is probably the safest conveyance among the top five in the market.
